Powering New York City: The Starbucks Overnight Upgrade
At Tri-State Installation, we understand that for a business like Starbucks, every minute of downtime is a loss of service to customers who depend on their daily routine. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with them on a multi-store upgrade project across New York City, designed to enhance their workflow and introduce exciting new offerings with zero disruption to their business hours.
The Challenge: Zero Downtime Upgrades
The mission was to perform significant upgrades in numerous high-traffic Starbucks locations without affecting their ability to open for business the next morning. With New Yorkers counting on their morning coffee, our challenge was to complete all work—from demolition to final installation—in the tight overnight window.
Our Solution: A Streamlined Overnight System
We developed a highly efficient, streamlined system that allowed our expert team, consisting of a single carpenter and a plumber, to fully upgrade one store each night. Our process was so refined that we were often able to complete two stores in a single evening.
Our commitment to a clean and safe workspace was paramount. Before any work began, our first step was to meticulously mask and protect all existing surfaces, ensuring the store would be pristine and dust-free for the morning rush.

The core of the project was to equip each store with modern, high-efficiency systems. Our work included:
Strategic Demolition
We began by carefully removing existing cabinets and countertops designated for replacement, preparing the space for the new installations.
High-Powered Glass Rinser
A new, high-powered glass rinser was installed in the sink basin. Our plumbing team ran entirely new water supply lines to support this powerful and efficient cleaning tool.
Nitro Cold Brew System Integration
A key feature of the upgrade was the installation of the popular Nitro Cold Brew system.
